about

On April 1st my heart and soul -- my uilleann pipe chanter by Cillian O Briain, the best maker in the world -- was stolen along with the rest of my main instruments from where I play at Johnnie Fox's Irish Snug on Granville Street, in Vancouver BC.

This is the last track I recorded with my high and low whistles and uilleann pipes. Intended as one track on my first full instrumental album, I am releasing it now as a thank you to whomever can DONATE as much as you want through this means to help raise money to find my chanter.

Worst case scenario try and get an new equivalent one...but it is worth as much as a small house is to buy, so... Please help as my entire livelihood as well as mental and spiritual health are now severely impaired.

Sincerely,
Elegwen

DAMANTA (Elegwen O'Maoileoin) Vancouver, British Columbia

Damanta is the original Irish/Celtic music project begun by Elegwen O'Maoileoin for the Vancouver CelticFest in 2005, which he opened on the outdoor stage at Granville and Georgia to the pre-parade mob.

Damanta is the Irish word for AWESOME. I know, I know.
That's not true. But it is. You just haven't spoken with enough old, old people in rural Ireland. But that is really how it was once used.
